Real sizes, not a toy model
A model seen from above always looks smaller than the real house. The 3D view is built in feet from your exact plan, so you can judge the space properly:

Yes, 100% free. Viewing your plan in 3D, walking inside, trying ceilings, lights and paint colours, saving the 3D model and sharing it are all free. There is no paid plan and no card — you only need a free account.
How do I convert my 2D floor plan to 3D for free?
Draw your plan in the free floor plan maker, then press the 3D view button in its top bar. The 3D house is built in seconds from your exact walls, doors and windows, free.
Can I save my 3D house for free?
Yes. Press 3D view on a saved project and its 3D model is saved to My projects → 3D models, built from your latest 2D plan, and your ceiling, light and paint choices save as you make them. Saving as many 3D models as you like is free.
I have a .json file I saved earlier. How do I see it in 3D?
Open the free plan maker, press Open and choose the file. Your plan opens in the editor — then press 3D view. Files from other software are not accepted, because the 3D model is built from HousePlanCraft’s exact walls, doors and windows.
Do I need to draw the plan first?
Yes. Draw it in the free plan maker (or start from a template), then press 3D view. If you are signed in, you can also open any saved project and press 3D view.
Are the sizes in the 3D model real?
Yes. Everything is built in feet from your plan: 9" walls, a 12'-0" floor to slab, 7'-0" doors, standard furniture sizes, and people at real heights so you can judge the space.
Can I walk inside the house?
Yes. Switch to “Walk inside” to move through the rooms at your own eye height with the keyboard, or with the on-screen joystick on a phone. You can climb the stair to the terrace too.
Is this a free AI 3D model generator?
Yes — the 3D generator was built with AI, and it is free. You do not model anything: press 3D view and your 3D house model is generated automatically in seconds — walls, doors, windows, stair, furniture and ceilings — from your own 2D plan. It uses your exact sizes, so every room matches your plan.
Can I share the 3D view for free?
Yes, free. Every 3D model has its own link. Share it with chosen people by email, or with anyone who has the link — they can look around without an account. Models you do not save expire after 30 days.
